The Mirage of Modern Christianity

Mirage: a misleading appearance, usually in the desert or at sea, resulting from a reflection of some distant scene in such a way as to give the impression that it is near. Often the subjects reflected are inverted.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (1 Cor. 1: 17-21)

mirage.small.2Brothers and sisters in the Lord, it is of utmost importance for us to abandon the pursuit of the mirage of modern Christianity.

It is nothing more than another noble human religion pursued by those who deem themselves righteous, whether they admit it or not. There are many good things talked about, taught, and encouraged in this religion based on the gentle aspects of Christ teachings but they ignore or twist the commands of our Lord. They spend enormous time satisfying the masses with their selfish desire for salvation and then lead them into a spiritual desert filled with mirages of the truth allowing them to wander towards varying degrees of their natural understanding.

It is time for us to return to the principles of the Kingdom of God and not the learned positions of religious men even if there religion revolves around the words of Christ.

The doctrine of the kingdom of God is overwhelmingly linked with fellowship with the Father and we can not have this fellowship in our own arbitrary way. What I am sharing today is the strongest words of repentance that I have ever shared. Each day that passes I see that my ways are not His ways and that I have so much more to do to be a loyal, devoted and serious citizen of His kingdom. Brethren, today we have a choice, and tomorrow if we continue to dull the urging of the Holy Spirit, His words will only become whispers that the world drowns out.

Satan is not just content to deceive those who reject God but he is just as motivated to deceive those who desire a relationship with God. It is not enough to desire a relationship with God. God in his mercy and grace has, from the foundations of the world, established the path of redemption and relationship with him. It begins with seeing the kingdom of his majesty, but it is not good enough just to see it, we are called to be part of it and the principles of his righteousness are available to live by today through the power of the Holy Spirit. All the intellect in the world is not enough!

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. (James 3:17)

Romans 12: 9-21 is an excellent passage for those of us in the kingdom.

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12: 9-21)

In closing I also ask for your prayers as I endeavor to be faithful to the principles of the kingdom for it is easy to become proud in one's understanding. May this encourage your hearts to the wonderous blessings of being in the kingdom of God.

In His Precious Name,
Robert
